If there’s one band known for their impressive live reputation, it’s the American southern blues rock group Gov’t Mule. The band started out in 1994 as a sideproject by guitarist Warren Haynes and bass player Allen Woody of legendary band The Allman Brothers Band, but evolved into an icon on the American jam rock scene. Gov’t Mule has been releasing studio albums, EPs and live releases almost continuously, all receiving a warm reception. But the band is best known for their steamy live performances with which they frequent large music festivals in the US. Because of their extensive repertoire, no show is the same. In Europe the band regularly sells out venues as well. Last year saw the release of their latest album The Tel-Star Sessions, which features never-before-released demos from the early days.
