CURTIS SALGADO

With a career lasting over 30 years, vocalist and harmonica player Curtis Salgado has become a household name in blues. After leading The Nighthawks in his hometown of Eugene, Arizona, he was part of The Robert Cray Band and fronted Roomful of Blues, before forming his own band and releasing his debut album in 1991. Salgado did a stint with Santana and performed with Steve Miller. He was also the inspiration behind John Belushi’s creation of ‘The Blues Brothers’. Although he has known loads of success, playing blues gigs and festivals all over the world and winning numerous blues awards, Salgado is no stranger to adversity: he battled both liver and lung cancer and underwent quadruple bypass surgery as recently as 2017. But he’s up, and he’s playing like never before! He calls his latest album, 2021’s ‘Damage Control’, “a rock ’n’ roll record with lyrics that hit”.
