Blues rock artist Eric Johanson is a Louisiana native who grew up idolizing bluesmen like Freddie King and Robert Johnson. He received his first guitar at age five and became a self-taught prodigy. By his teens, he was a staple at regional blues gigs, often joining much older musicians on stage from New Orleans to Memphis’ Beale Street. He also developed a love for hard rock and now uses blues as a springboard for an edgier, broader sound. On his latest album, 2023’s The Deep And The Dirty, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard Blues Charts, Johansen offers ‘everything from roadhouse roots-rock to dark, bluesy Americana’. He has performed with varied artists such as the Neville Brothers, JJ Grey and Mike Zito, and at blues festivals around the world.
