With a career spanning five decades, John Fogerty is one of the most influencial musicians in rock history. He found fame as the lead singer, lead guitarist, and principal songwriter of Creedence Clearwater Revival, enjoying now-classic hit singles such as Down On The Corner, Bad Moon Rising, and Green River. Rolling Stone honored him as one of the 100 Greatest Guitarists, 100 Greatest Songwriters, and 100 Greatest Singers.

Beth Hart still has a special place in her heart for our country – one of the first places to recognize her amazing talent. Last November she performed before a sold-out Ziggo Dome, as she did once before in 2018. To date, she has released eleven solo studio albums, as well as three together with Joe Bonamassa; her latest, A Tribute to Led Zeppelin, saw the light in 2022.

The Australian blues rock band The Teskey Brothers from Melbourne broke through in 2017, when they released their debut album Half Mile Harvest, making it to number 1 in their home country. Its successor Run Home Slow was released 2,5 years later in 2019 and nominated for a Grammy Award. They are embarking on a headline tour in Europe and the UK in 2023, and make a stop in Grolloo on 9 June.

Blood Brothers is a collaboration of Mike Zito with another blues rock heavy-weight; fellow singer and guitarist Albert Castiglia. Their album Blood Brothers is in the works and due in January 2023. As successful musicians, they are evenly matched: while Zito won the 2022 Blues Music Award for Blues Rock Album, Castiglia took home the BMA for Blues Rock Artist.

Christone ‘Kingfish’ Ingram may still be one of the younger artists on the blues scene, he has a long history in music. While still a teenager, he garnered millions of views with his YouTube performance videos. Ingram released his debut album Kingfish in 2019, entering the Billboard Blues Chart at no. 1, with Rolling Stone declaring him “one of the most exciting young guitarists in years”. His second album 662 saw the light in 2021, again to rave reviews and with a Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Blues Album as a result.

British singer and guitarist Joanne Shaw Taylor was inspired in her early teens to play the blues after hearing Stevie Ray Vaughan, Albert Collins and Jimi Hendrix. Now in her late thirties, Taylor released no less than two albums in 2022. Her latest is Nobody’s Fool, and before that, there was Blues From The Heart: Live. After nine studio albums so far and a string of awards, she is a blues force to be reckoned with.

Marc Broussard is an American singer-songwriter hailing from Louisiana. His sound has been described as ‘bayou soul’ or ‘swamp soul’ because of his southern roots; his Louisiana background can be heard in the southern passion with which he connects influences from gospel, country, blues, R&B, and rock. After his debut, Broussard has so far released nine more albums, among which three volumes of S.O.S.: Save Our Souls; collections of covers of which the proceeds were donated to charity. The last one, 2019’s A Lullaby Collection, is his latest album to date.

The daughter of a church choir director, Bette Smith was singing since she was five years old. In 2017, she released her first album as Bette Smith, Jetlagger, to rave reviews, followed by 2020’s The Good, The Bad and The Bette. In between, she performed at stages and festivals all through the U.S. and Europe.

The band Hearty Har is led by brothers Shane and Tyler Fogerty, who both play guitar and contribute vocals. This psychedelic rock band from Los Angeles, California was founded in 2012 and has come to be known for their exciting and raucous live shows, which blend modern psychedelia with classic garage rock and roll. Their latest album, Radio Astro, was released in 2021.

Nikki Hill sang gospel in the church choir from her childhood through her early teenage years. At home, she was infected with R&B, soul, pop and hip hop, and gradually, she developed her ears for garage rock, rock n’ roll, blues and roots. She self-released and produced her debut album, 2013’s Here’s Nikki Hill. After that she made two more records: 2015’s Heavy Hearts Hard Fists and her latest, 2018’s Feline Roots.
