MARC BROUSSARD

Saturday 10 June

Don’t be fooled by his beautiful French name: Marc Broussard is an American singer-songwriter hailing from Louisiana. He’s been building up his reputation as a contemporary soul sensation since his debut album Momentary Setback (2002), immersing audiences everywhere in his warm, dark voice. His sound has been described as ‘bayou soul’ or ‘swamp soul’ because of his southern roots; his Louisiana background can be heard in the southern passion with which he connects influences from gospel, country, blues, R&B, and rock. After his debut, Broussard has so far released nine more albums, among which four volumes of S.O.S.: Save Our Souls; collections of covers of which the proceeds were donated to charity. The latest one, Blues For Your Soul, was released in March and produced by Joe Bonamassa. Broussard has toured with artists ranging from Bonnie Raitt and Willie Nelson to Maroon 5, and made an impact during many performances on (mainly) American live tv shows.
