THE WAR AND TREATY

The War and Treaty consists of Michael and Tanya Trotter, an American couple that came together because it was fate. Michael found his singing voice in the army in Iraq, writing songs for comrades who were killed in action. Tanya won a talent show aged thirteen and knew right away her future was in music. The two met while performing at the same event and exchanged phone numbers. They are now happily married, with a son and a career that keeps getting better. Having been compared to Ike & Tina Turner, and Tanya to Aretha Franklin, The War and Treaty are mostly a band that delivers, both on recordings and during live shows. Their debut album, 2018’s ‘Healing Tide’, was produced by Americana veteran Buddy Miller. An album filled with pain and healing energy, it is most of all filled with old-school soul. 2020 saw the release of their latest album, ‘Hearts Town’.
