JOANNE SHAW TAYLOR
Vrijdag 9 juni
It’s been over twenty years, but British singer and guitarist Joanne Shaw Taylor was discovered at age 16 by Dave Stewart of the Eurythmics, who then invited her to join him on tour in Europe. A flying start for the girl who was inspired in her early teens to play the blues after hearing Stevie Ray Vaughan, Albert Collins and Jimi Hendrix. Now in her late thirties, Taylor released no less than two albums in 2022. Her latest is Nobody’s Fool, and before that, there was Blues From The Heart: Live, produced by Joe Bonamassa, who also released 2021’s The Blues Album on his label and gifted her the Fender Albert Collins signature model Telecaster she uses. Furthermore, her recent single Can’t You See What You’re Doing To Me features Kenny Wayne Shepherd. But although Taylor is clearly well-connected, she can hold her own. After nine studio albums so far and a string of awards, she is a blues force to be reckoned with.
